On January 11, 2020 the Catholic Schools in the Diocese of Austin celebrated and honored 20 Diocesan school heroes. These individuals are members of our communities who give so much to advance the mission of Catholic schools in the Diocese of Austin. This year Fr. Mark Hamlet, Pastor of Sacred Heart Church and Our Kids at Heart Chairman received the Kellerman Memorial Leadership Award!
More good news on our outreach. OKAH has been asked to partner with a couple of Parish St. Vincent DePaul Societies and Catholic Charities to identify families who elect to send their children to Catholic schools. We can think of no better way to evangelize families than through the Catholic education of their children. A team of Catholic school “Ambassadors” is being formed to help these families navigate the process. We ask for your prayers and support. We have seen that Catholic education can help break poverty’s hold on these families, and assure the success of their children.
Our tuition Subsidy program is becoming a tool in the toolbox of case workers dealing with challenging family situations.

On Tuesday, June 11, 2019 we received a generous gift from the Knights of Columbus from St. Catherine of Siena Parish. With their contribution, we will be able to supplement the tuition of one of our students to attend Catholic School next school year. May God continue blessing their Ministry!
Anthony, Grade 12, and his sister, Hellen, Grade 11, both attend San Juan Diego Catholic High School. They are beneficiaries of the Our Kids at Heart Tuition Fund. They, with other members of their Parish, Sacred Heart Church, joined the 2019 Texas Rally for Life that was held last Saturday, January 26, 2019. The Texas Rally for Life commemorated the 46th anniversary of the tragic Roe v. Wade Supreme Court decision in 1973, which made abortion legal throughout all nine months of pregnancy. In the wake of Roe, legal abortion in our nation has claimed the lives of more than 60 million unborn children and has hurt countless women and men.
Our Kids at Heart was a Bronze sponsor of Saint Mary Cathedral Gala on Saturday April 14th, 2018. Our Kids at Heart supports the tuition of 107 Sacred Heart parish students at Cathedral School of St. Mary.
